BUTTE COUNTY, Calif. — CAL FIRE Law Enforcement arrested a suspect accused of hitting a county fire engine with an energy drink can while crews responded to a vegetation fire on Upper Palermo Road on June 29.

According to CAL FIRE, the fire engine was struck by a 20-ounce Red Bull can, which shattered the windshield and made the vehicle inoperable. After a thorough investigation, authorities identified 31-year-old Palermo man, William Miller Jr., as the suspect. CAL FIRE, in collaboration with the Butte County Sheriff’s Office and California Highway Patrol, issued a warrant for his arrest.

Miller was taken into custody on Monday, October 20, and booked into Butte County Jail on multiple felony charges. The damage to the fire engine kept it out of service for several weeks and required c
