Syracuse, N.Y. — Fran Brown showed he’s looking forward to the future when he played 14 true freshmen in Saturday’s loss to No. 8 Georgia Tech.

When discussing his quarterbacks on Monday, he hinted the position may not be excluded from the youth movement down the line.

Syracuse’s season was derailed by the injury of Steve Angeli, so much so that Brown jokes about it when he speaks to Angeli, Brown said.

In Angeli’s absence, no one has proven themselves a threat to his starting job next season, and with Angeli in the early stages of a lengthy rehab process, how Brown manages the quarterback spot heading into 2026 is shaping up to be one of his most important offseason tasks.
