Kelsey’s Original Roadhouse restaurant is closed while authorities investigate a fire that broke out early Monday morning.

According to a media release, Owen Sound Fire and Emergency Services responded to a fire alarm system activated at the restaurant located at 1350 16th Avenue East by the Heritage Place Mall shortly after 4 a.m.

The fire was contained to the restaurant’s service area, and damage to the building was minimized, according to the release. Fifteen firefighters responded.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. The Electrical Safety Authority and the Ontario Fire Marshal’s Office are assisting the Owen Sound Fire Department with the ongoing investigation.
