GALESBURG, Ill. (WMBD) -- A Maquon woman was sentenced Monday to 50 years in prison for poisoning a former police chief more than two years ago.
In July, Marcy L. Oglesby was convicted at a bench trial of first-degree murder, attempted murder, and aggravated battery in connection with the death of Richard Young. Knox County Circuit Judge Andrew Doyle took about five minutes to find her guilty after four days of testimony.
Under state law, Oglesby must serve 100% of her sentence, meaning that barring a successful appeal, she'll likely spend the rest of her life in prison
