LYN — With the backdrop of Christ United Church’s 150th anniversary celebratory service, Margie Mulvihill of the Lyn and District Community Association awarded the parishioners of the historic church, collectively, the title of Lyn’s Citizens of the Year.

“It is your dedication and commitment to the church that has maintained and continued the ministry here. I did not know that it was your 150th anniversary. I discovered that when I came out to the church to check some spelling for my presentation,” said Mulvihill as she stood alongside JoAnne Fletcher, a key before-she-was-born member of the congregation.

“If I hadn’t done that, I wouldn’t have known it was a special service today. That’s how God works every day and it’s a blessing that I checked,” added Mulvihill.
