Children are more than twice as likely to get hit by a car and killed on Halloween, according to the American Red Cross.

The number of alcohol-related traffic incidents also skyrockets around the holiday.
The American Red Cross said it's important to implement safety practices to ensure a fun and safe trick-or-treating experience.
They've provided some Halloween safety tips:
Trick-or-treaters should walk only on sidewalks, not in the street. If there are no sidewalks, walk at the edge of the roadway, facing traffic.
Look both ways before crossing the street, and cross only at the corner.
