The Cleveland Cavaliers have made a determination on the status of oft-hurt veteran point guard Lonzo Ball ahead of a Detroit Pistons clash on Monday.

The 28-year-old will be held out of what could be a future playoff preview.

The Pistons matchup represents the second straight game in a back-to-back slate of bouts for Cleveland, who vanquished the Milwaukee Bucks on Sunday, 119-113, despite a mammoth 40-point, 14-rebound, nine-assist night from two-time league MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo. With Ball playing in that Bucks effort, it makes sense that Cleveland wants to rest him in at least one of the club's back-to-back bouts.
