MONTAGUE — After rolling through the competition in the West Michigan Conference-Lakes Division all season, the Ludington girls varsity volleyball team made the trip to Montague on Saturday for the WMC-Lakes Division conference tournament.

The Orioles continued to look strong all day long and made it to the championship match against Fremont.

However, it was the Packers’ day as they downed Ludington (26-24, 26-24). Both teams won a share of the overall conference title.

The Orioles are now 23-16-3 overall.

Senior Jaelyn Laird paced Ludington with 12 kills. She also racked up six aces, two digs and three blocks.

Freshman Norah Kiessel set up the offense with 15 assists. She also had five kills, two blocks and a dig.
