CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - After six long years of waiting, the family of a beloved NoDa sandwich shop owner finally gets their day in court.
Scott Brooks, the co-owner of the Brooks’ Sandwich House , was shot and killed in December 2019.
The trial for the two men, Terry Connor Jr. and Steven Staples, who were charged with the deadly shooting, started on Monday, Oct. 27, with pre-trial motions.
David Brooks, Scott’s twin brother, said it’s been a painful, at times heartbreaking, six years for the family.
David Brooks said after all this time, he forgives Connor and Staples, but needs justice for his brother.
“When I open a Bible, I see my brother. When I say my prayers, I see my brother. When I open my business, I see my brother,” David Brooks said.
