BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- A lunch fundraiser that benefits widows and orphans of fallen officers is scheduled for Wednesday.

The 16th annual "Tips for CHiPs" fundraiser is slated for Oct. 29 at the Outback Steakhouse in Bakersfield.

Between 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., supporters can get a dinner for $30 that includes steak, chicken, Caesar salad, mashed potatoes, bread and cheesecake. Since 2010, the event has raised over $470,000 for the CHP Widows & Orphans' Trust Fund.

Erik Estrada, from the television show "CHiPs" will make a special appearance at the event.

CHP Officer DC Williams and Shannon Ehly, whose husband is honored every year at the event, joined 17 News at Noon to discuss the upcoming fundraiser.
