LAS VEGAS (KLAS) -- This year, Nevada Day falls on the actual anniversary date of the state's admission to the country.
Nevada became a state on Oct. 31, 1864. In 1933, the state legislature passed a bill designating the day as Nevada Day, an official state holiday. It is celebrated on the last Friday of October each year.
This year, that Friday aligns with the actual date, which the holiday does every seven years or so.
This year, museums in the state are planning activities around the holiday weekend, which we've compiled here for you.
