LAS VEGAS (KLAS) -- A mother buried her son and nephew at the same time after they were gunned down six months ago in an east Las Vegas robbery.
Both grew up together and saw each other more like brothers than cousins. The pain of losing them has not eased over time for Janeth Sanchez.
"I never thought it was going to be the last time I would've seen my son or my nephew," Sanchez told 8 News Now. "It's a horrible feeling losing a child. There's no words to describe my daily pain that I go through."
Sanchez built an altar inside her home for her 24-year-old son, Luis Santiago Esquivel Jr., whom she affectionately calls Junior. There are also photos of her nephew, 21-year-old Carlos Gael Garcia.
"They were just funny people, funny guys," Sanchez said.
Both Junior and Gael are buried tog
