SULLIVAN COUNTY, Pa. — The American flag is at half mast outside the Dushore Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 on Julia Street in the borough. Over the weekend, the fire company lost one of its own. Although he only joined in August, his fellow firefighters say he already made a huge impact on them.
"He came to us after retirement looking for a way to give back to the community, that says a lot about who he was, always smiling, always curious, and always willing help, his enthusiasm was contagious," said Fire Chief John Yonkin, Dushore Volunteer Fire Company No. 1.
