LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Before his first regular-season game in a Louisville uniform, freshman guard Mikel Brown Jr. has already earned national attention.

The Basketball Hall of Fame named Brown Jr. to its Bob Cousy Point Guard of the Year Top 20 Preseason Watch List on Monday.

Brown Jr. is one of just two players from the ACC on this year’s list, which recognizes the top point guard in Division I men’s basketball. The award, now in its 23rd year, is named after Hall of Famer and former Boston Celtics and Holy Cross guard Bob Cousy.

In his debut in a Louisville uniform, Brown Jr. posted 10 points, five rebounds, and two assists in an exhibition game against Kansas.
