NATCHITOCHES, La. (KALB) - On Oct. 31, the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office shared that Ernest Lard , wanted for rape allegations, was captured in Red River Parish.

Lard was wanted for one count of first-degree rape in connection with an ongoing sexual assault investigation in Campti.

He is currently being held in the Red River Parish Jail, pending his transfer to Natchitoches Parish.

Natchitoches Parish Sheriff Stuart Wright expressed his appreciation for the assistance provided by the Red River Parish Sheriff’s Office and the public, stating:
