Minnesota Vikings quarterback Carson Wentz has been placed on injured reserve and will undergo season-ending surgery on his left shoulder, ESPN 's Adam Schefter reported on Monday (October 27).
"Vikings will place Carson Wentz on IR. Wentz will undergo season-ending surgery on his left shoulder," Schefter wrote on his X account. "Vikings officially placed Carson Wentz on injured reserve. To fill his roster spot, the Vikings claimed TE Ben Sims on waivers from the Packers. Sims first joined the Vikings as an undrafted free agent in May 2023."
