An arrest warrant has been issued for a Chicago man exactly one year after his estranged wife was found dead in a stairwell of a South Loop condo building.

According to an arrest warrant issued Monday, Adam Beckerink is accused of murdering his estranged wife, Caitlin Tracey, inside of the building on Oct. 27, 2024.

It is alleged, according to a criminal complaint, that Beckerink threw Tracey over the railing of the 24 th floor of the east stairwell of his condo building in the 1200 block of Prairie Street in Chicago.

Tracey fell down 24 flights of stairs, severing her foot, according to Chicago police. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
