NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) -- City of New Haven officials cut the ribbon Monday at the Towers at Tower Lane Senior Living Facility.

Changes to the Towers at Tower Lane, one of the city's largest senior living communities, include upgrades to the ground floor space and outdoor areas, as well as 48,000 square feet of new units.

"A home is a very different thing than having a place to live," New Haven Mayor Justin Elicker said during the ribbon-cutting ceremony."

The renovations were funded by federal, state and local dollars, as well as private donations.
