One of Fort Collins' most famous faces will be displayed at the Smithsonian Institution’s National Portrait Gallery in Washington, D.C.
Temple Grandin, distinguished professor in CSU’s Department of Animal Sciences, is famous for her work on improving the living conditions for livestock and her own journey with autism and advocacy.
Her life story was depicted in the feature film "Temple Grandin" starring Claire Daines, and a new documentary, "An Open Door," is now streaming on Amazon.
And this year, USA TODAY named her one of its 2025 Women of the Year.
Artist David Lenz's oil painting of Grandin, called "Brocken Spectre and Glory: Portrait of Temple Grandin," will soon become part of the Smithsonian's permanent collection.
