BOSTON (WWLP) - The defense sector accounts for over 7% of the Bay State's total economy, and the Healey-Driscoll administration is making supporting and developing these defense industries a priority.
The Healey-Driscoll Administration states that military funding has always been a priority, and on Monday, they announced $47 million earmarked to bolster the sector.
"We're already doing so much and are positioned to be national leaders in the defense tech space," said Lieutenant Governor Kim Driscoll.
The governor's initiative is sending $25 million in state and local funding from bond funds and local tax initiatives to the city of Lowell, which will be partnering with Draper, a technology non-profit, to construct a microelectronics and advanced chip technology center. A $11.4 million f
