KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Kansas City Chiefs owner Clark Hunt spoke to reporters Monday night ahead of the team’s game against the Washington Commanders for a mid-season update.
Hunt was asked several questions about the team’s status and was asked about the extended absence of rookie left tackle Josh Simmons.
The Chiefs’ 2025 first-round pick will miss his third consecutive game Monday night due to a personal matter.
“We’ve had good communication with him and there’s an understanding by both parties as to where he is,” Hunt said, “and we’re hopeful to have him back with the team at some time in the future.”
Hunt’s comments come on the heels of head coach Andy Reid’s words earlier in the week. The Chiefs’ head coach called it “not a negative situation,” and said Simmons was “taking c
