A man has been arrested after a car struck a pedestrian and crashed into a Sainsbury's convenience store on Monday afternoon (October 27).

Police, fire crews and paramedics attended the incident off Darwen Road following reports of a collision between a car and a pedestrian.

The pedestrian, in his 40s, was airlifted to Royal Preston Hospital after suffering potentially life-changing injuries, Greater Manchester Police said.
