Two students at Millbrook High School are in custody after they allegedly broke into the shuttered Federal-Mogul plant in Winchester on Saturday and started a fire.
Nikita Kalashnikov and Mykyta Tanasiiev, both 18, were each charged with entering a structure to commit a felony. Authorities say arson-related charges also may be pursued.
According to court records, police responded to reports of a break-in at the Federal-Mogul site, located at 2410 Papermill Road, at approximately 6 p.m.
A security guard at the scene said he had heard what sounded like metal pipes falling inside the facility, which is off limits to the public, but did not see any signs of forced entry.
