DEKALB COUNTY, Tenn. (WSMV) - A DeKalb County family is demanding accountability after a sheriff’s deputy hit and killed their dog in their driveway and drove away without stopping to help.
The incident occurred last Monday at the family’s home in Alexandria when a delivery driver called 911 to report that dogs had damaged his car while trying to deliver a package.
Security video shows the deputy driving down the Talley family’s driveway and not stopping when the dog went in front of his car. After hitting the dog, the deputy kept driving away and told a neighbor what happened.
Brad Talley was coming home from work when he got a call about the crash. When he arrived, he found his dog, Rey, lying dead in a puddle of blood.
