AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) - The Georgia Democrats brought the "My Power Bill's Too High" early voting tour to Augusta on Monday, Oct. 27.
Organizers at the rally said the current leadership on the Public Service Commission raised power bills in the state of Georgia, and promised to bring costs down.
"The power companies and the utility companies can't just raise our bills on their own. They've got to go to the Public Service Commission and say hey we want a rate hike. That's the way this happens," said Charlie Bailey, chair of the Georgia Democratic Party. "That's why folks need to understand their not spectators at the play, we're the actors in the play. Y'all get to determine, we get to determine who's gonna be backing the public on the Public Service Commission."
