Manzanita Charter School recently hosted an Autism Awareness Day, drawing an enthusiastic turnout of students, staff and families for a day of education, compassion and connection.

The event began with three age-specific assemblies — for transitional kindergarten through second grade, third through fifth grade, and sixth through seventh grade — all focused on helping students understand autism, neurodiversity, and the importance of kindness and inclusion.

Students and staff were honored to welcome Dr. Kerry Magro, an award-winning national speaker, best-selling author, autistic self-advocate, and consultant for Netflix’s Love on the Spectrum U.S.
