MASSILLON, Ohio — Civil rights attorney Ben Crump, known for representing the family of George Floyd, is calling out Massillon police over the use of pepper spray on a predominantly Black high school football team from St. Louis.
Crump accuses officers of racially profiling players from Cardinal Ritter College Prep after their Oct. 3 matchup against Massillon Washington High School.
“Justice for the young Lions,” Crump said at a St. Louis press conference Monday afternoon, as parents echoed, “Justice for the young lions.”
More than three weeks after the incident, Crump is coming to the defense of the Cardinal Ritter Lions, speaking to St. Louis media alongside Ohio attorneys and parents of the players.
