WASHINGTON - Gesa Credit Union's Local Heroes Grant program is making a significant impact across the state with its return for a fifth year. The program allows Gesa members to contribute to a grant fund by selecting a category to donate toward.
Amber Merrill, Community Relations Manager with Gesa, highlighted the program's origins and its focus on supporting frontline workers. "It started back in 2021 when we were identifying where the needs were in our communities," Merrill said. "And, again, that's really what sparked that conversation of, frontline workers. And those people who, no matter what was going on in the world, had to be out and serving their communities. Which again, encompasses that local hero group."
