East Providence’s destination for family fun on four wheels is about to put a whole new spin on the phrase “happy hour”.
Representatives for United Skates of America, located on New Road in Rumford , appeared before the East Providence City Council on Oct. 21 to request the granting of a limited B/V liquor license, reasoning that it was something that had been requested by customers, and that would help the business stay competitive.
“This is something that, after many years we’ve decided to add to the fun and the events; birthday parties et cetera. and, frankly, the customers are looking for,” said Tim Chapman, an attorney representing United Skates at the meeting.
The request faced resistance from a mother-daughter duo, Sharon and Helen McWilliams of Roger Williams
