AUBURN, Ala. (WRBL) – When Steven Pearl takes the court as Auburn’s head coach for the first time this season, it’ll be more than just another game — it’ll mark the beginning of a new chapter for the Tigers.

Pearl, who officially steps into the role following his father Bruce Pearl’s retirement, says he’s eager to embrace the opportunity and lean on the experience he’s already gained.

“Oh, it’s going to be amazing,” Pearl said. “I was fortunate enough to do it in 2022 when Coach had to sit out a game, so I had a little bit of experience there. But the first game against Bethune-Cookman is going to be an unbelievable environment. I know the fans are really excited to see this team.”

While the emotions of the moment will be high, Pearl says his focus remains on preparation and consistency
