MAUI, Hawaii (Island News) – Maui County leaders statewide are mourning the recent passing of Councilmember Tasha Kama, who was the Presiding Officer Pro Tempore of the Maui County Council and the Chair of the Housing and Land Use Committee.
Councilmember Kama’s family released a statement on social media on Monday morning, confirming the passing. The post read:
“It is with deep sadness that we inform you of the passing of our mother Councilmember Natalie “Tasha” Kama on Sunday, October 26, 2025 at 9:25 p.m. surrounded by her loved ones. She dedicated her life to her family and community with love and compassion. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.”
