MINNEAPOLIS — As children, do we really know what's inside us?
Not the bones, the veins, and the brain, but the motor that drives us.
“I grew up in Highland Park,” Kathy Casper says. “There's seven kids in our family.”
While Kathy has plenty of childhood memories, she remembers nothing inside her that foretold what was to come.
“Nothing,” she emphasizes. “Nothing.”
Nothing, as she married and raised three kids.
Nothing, as she worked as a mental health nurse — pushing 60.
“It was after my marriage ended and I was pretty lost,” Kathy says. “The boys had already left home, and when my daughter went off to college, I didn't know what I was going to do with myself.”
Kathy didn’t know what she had inside until the day she walked inside Los Campeones Gym in south Minneapolis.
