The longtime manager of San Francisco’s famed Condor Club — a topless bar that helped define North Beach nightlife — was gunned down outside his Santa Rosa home by two former employees-turned-lovers who plotted the attack together, police allege.
Mark Calcagni, 60, was found shot to death around 6:30 a.m. on Oct. 3 in a bike lane along Brookwood Avenue near Birdfoot Way, authorities said.
Police on Saturday announced the arrests of Richard Lund, 43, and Asia Morton, 25, in connection with the killing. 4
Both once worked under Calcagni at an adult entertainment venue and were romantically involved despite their 18-year age gap, investigators said.
Detectives believe Lund ambushed Calcagni after waiting for him to return home from a late-night shift, then fled the scene.
