A pedestrian died after being struck by a vehicle in Wilmington on Oct. 23.

Allen Pearce, 39, died after two vehicles collided at Troy Drive and Shipyard Boulevard at 5:18 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 23, the Wilmington Police Department confirmed.

Wilmington Police Department representative Brandon Shope could not confirm the exact day Pearce died, noting he received confirmation of Pearce's death from investigators on Oct. 27.

Shope did not confirm the type of vehicles involved nor the details of what happened before Pearce was hit.

"More information will be available once the investigation is over in the near future," Shope said.
