NIXA, Mo. — Nixa voters were able to ask questions and learn more about a tax levy proposed by the Nixa Fire Protection District.

The last of three town halls, held at the Nixa Fire Training Center, had roughly a little over a dozen attendees.
Fire Chief Lloyd Walles spoke for several minutes, telling voters the need for the levy is due to aging equipment and recruiting and retention.
It's the first operational tax levy requested from the fire district since the early 2000s.
Leaders from the fire district say the levy totals out to 25 cents for every 100 dollars of assessed property value.
By their figures, that totals out to around an increase of $8 a m
