LOUISVILLE, Ky. — On Monday afternoon, the US Senate reconvened in Washington.

Senators are expected this week to vote on the House-approved Continuing Resolution once again. Republicans have mostly voted for the CR, but Democrats have pushed back.

They have demanded assurances about protecting healthcare costs, especially as subsidies are set to expire.

Before heading back to Capitol Hill, Senator Rand Paul (R-Ky.) met with reporters after visiting BAE Systems in Louisville. He expressed concerns for federal workers who are still on the job while missing paychecks.

"I'm flying today. I want my air traffic controller to be paid," Sen. Paul said. "I want him or her to pay attention."
