LOS ANGELES - Toronto Blue Jays designated hitter George Springer was pulled from Game 3 of the World Series against the L.A. Dodgers after fouling off a pitch in the seventh inning.
Springer grabbed at his right side and asked for the trainer to come out of the dugout.
He was replaced by infielder Ty France, who struck out against Dodgers left-hander Justin Wrobleski. The game was tied 4-4 at the time.
Springer has battled a number of injuries this post-season. He was hit by a pitch in the wrist area in Game 2 at Toronto on Saturday.
He was also hit in the knee by a pitch in Game 5 of the American League Championship Series against the Seattle Mariners.
Springer was hitting .246 with four homers and nine RBIs in the post-season. He hit .309 in the regular season with 32 homers and 84
