Fifth-year guard Mikale Stevenson scored 23 points and grabbed 11 rebounds as PFW’s men’s basketball team beat Ball State 84-70 in a preseason exhibition Monday at the Hilliard Gates Sports Center.
The transfer from Grambling State went 10 for 14 as the Mastodons shot 57.4% from the field compared to just 36.4% by the Cardinals. He also had seven assists, and all of his rebounds were defensive.
Junior guards Corey Hadnot II and DeAndre Craig Jr. added 19 and 13 points as 10 Mastodons scored in the contest.
PFW totalled 54 points in the paint to Ball State’s 30, and shot 8 for 30 from 3-poiint range.
Junior guard Devon Barnes, a transfer out of UTEP, led Ball State with 18 points in 20 minutes off the bench. Senior guard Elmore James added 12.
