Forecasters have hit out at design changes to the Bureau of Meteorology’s brand new website that make it harder to see hail in major storms, as the revamp continues to draw backlash from users.

The website, which received 2.6 billion page views a year, was relaunched last Wednesday but has already been inundated with criticism of its new features.

Experts fear changes in the way storms are presented will make it harder to see hail storms as they approach, while ordinary Australians using the site have complained that the upgrade makes it harder to find their suburb right as the severe weather season kicks off.
