DULUTH — After years of debate since the Lester Park Golf Course closed in 2020, city officials aim to hatch a plan for its future within nine months.
The Duluth City Council unanimously voted Monday night to authorize a land-use study for the former municipal golf course.
The city already handed control of 37.5 acres of the course over to the Duluth Economic Development Authority in 2023, in hopes of bringing more housing to the community. But another 200-plus acres of land remains idle.
