PRESTON, Conn. (WTNH) — Serious injuries were reported after a car vs. pedestrian hit-and-run Monday evening on Route 2, police say.

Connecticut State Police said the vehicle involved in the collision left the scene. They believe the car is a dark-colored BMW SUV.

The road is closed while crews investigate.

The scene remains active as of 11:15 p.m. No further information is available at this time.
