Queenslanders still cleaning up after severe storms that rolled through the region on Sunday are set for even more misery as another front converges along the border with NSW in the coming days.

Sky News Senior Meteorologist Rob Sharpe said the worst of the wet weather for the region would come on Tuesday afternoon and evening.

“Some significant rainfall already across that NSW/Queensland border and a fair bit more to come through today with areas of rain settling in there for northern and central NSW and southern Queensland with showers and storms active for areas north of there,” Sharpe said.

“It’s this afternoon/this evening that will see the bulk of the wet weather.

“So, it’s on an increasing trend for those regions and the storm threat is primarily this afternoon.”
