The Dallas Mavericks could not string together their first winning streak of the season, dropping the second night of a back-to-back against the Oklahoma City Thunder 101-94 in Dallas Monday night.
This was a strange game, with both teams shorthanded. Dallas was missing both Daniel Gafford and Dereck Lively, forcing the Mavericks to play Anthony Davis at center for most of the game. The Thunder controlled the game through three quarters thanks to some stifling defense, but the fourth quarter is when things got interesting.
Behind a Jaden Hardy and D’Angelo Russell back court, the Mavericks went on a 25-4 run, turning a 20-plus point blowout into a one point game with under five minutes remaining. OKC would score the final six points of the game to close it out.
