A woman who died while an involuntary psychiatric patient at Alice Springs Hospital in 2023 after being repeatedly sedated was in cardiac arrest for "at least ten minutes before it was reported", an inquest has heard.

On Monday, Coroner Elisabeth Armitage wrapped up a six-day inquest into the death of 33-year-old Kumanjayi Brogus Ungwanaka, who died after reporting to a health clinic following an acute psychotic episode on November 20.
Judge Armitage asked the last witness, Townsville University Hospital emergency physician Luke Lawton, how the case compared with others.
