The impact of Cyclone Montha formed in the Bay of Bengal and a depression in the Arabian Sea is being felt on the weather across Uttar Pradesh. A heavy rainfall alert has been issued for districts in Eastern UP, especially those falling under Mirzapur and Varanasi divisions, for the next few days.

A dip in temperature is also expected across the state. Experts said areas like Orai witnessed a 9.8 degrees Celsius fall in the maximum temperature; across the state, maximum temperatures are either normal or significantly below normal in the past 24 hours.
