Smyrna and Wilmington Friends earned the No. 1 seeds when the DIAA announced the Division I and Division II field hockey tournament brackets on Oct. 27.

Smyrna, the top D-I team, enters the tournament off a 4-1 victory over Sussex Academy in the Henlopen Conference championship game. The Eagles' only loss came to Pennsylvania's Episcopal Academy on Sept. 30.

Wilmington Friends, the top D-II team, won 14 games in a row before a 3-2 loss at Tower Hill in its final game of the regular season.

Also 14-1, reigning D-I champion Cape Henlopen is the second seed. Delmar, the reigning D-II champs, failed to make the tournament.

The 12-team D-II tournament begins Oct. 29, and the eight-team D-I tournament starts Oct. 30 with the higher seed hosting. Semifinals and the championship games will be
