The Pakistani army violated the ceasefire along the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir's Leepa valley earlier this week and fired at Indian posts, sources said. Pakistan used small arms and resorted to mortar shelling on the intervening night of October 26-27.
However, the Indian Army gave a befitting reply to the unprovoked firing by Pakistan, sources said. The LoC has been quiet since May 10, when Pakistan reached out to India for a ceasefire following three days of hostilities.
In August, there were reports that Pakistan had violated the truce by opening fire in the Poonch region. However, the Army had denied the reports.
