LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Kentucky Humane Society is raising millions right now for a brand-new campus and wants the community's help.
"I’ve always liked the chaos," said Laura Zartman, KHS senior database manager. "I love the mission. I love the people. If you love what you do and who you do it for, it’s [hashtag] #winning.”
The KHS has grown so much over the years that her office is in a closet.
“It’s small; like I said, if you have a deep thought or a big thought, you just step outside," Zartman said. "But it’s a regular-sized closet. I’m looking forward to the upgrades."
“We have grown; very much grown," said Alisa Gray, KHS president and CEO. "Our programs have grown. The need has grown, and we are running out of space.”
