STARK COUNTY, Ohio — More than four decades have passed since 36-year-old Carol Zastudil was found murdered inside her Perry Township home . Her son, Eric Hoffman, is still hoping someone will come forward with information that could finally bring justice.
Zastudil was discovered dead on Dec. 21, 1983, inside her home.
“Last day of school, Christmas break, 1983. We all went to school and came home, and I came home ill, and we found my mother brutally murdered in one of the bedrooms,” Hoffman recalled.
Despite years of investigation, Zastudil's killer has never been found.
“It’s been a hard life. You’re always looking behind your shoulder, thinking who did this, why has this not been solved,” Hoffman said.
