LAKE COUNTY, Ohio (WOIO) - A Lake County Grand Jury indicted a 44-year-old Willoughby man for a “swatting” hoax that sent multiple police officers to his apartment building.

Willoughby police said on Sept. 4, Antonio Edwards Woods called police from the Willo Park Apartments on Euclid Avenue and said he had just killed his girlfriend and was going to kill himself.

After nearly four hours, police searched all buildings on the properties at Willo Park and nearby Cedarwood Estates and found no evidence a crime had happened.

Woods was arrested several days later.

He was indicted on the charges of swatting, making false alarms, inducing panic, and possession of cocaine.
